Event Tech of the Week: @Conventica

Today, we’re talking about: Conventica

Company/Tool Name: Conventica

Website: www.conventica.com

Twitter: https://twitter.com/Conventica

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Conventica/

What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?

The main problem is, that people don’t have any direct communication tool with the organiser and the organiser can’t get in touch with all attendees at once.
Conventica helps people engage via networking module and allows to interact with the event organisers. Additionally event manager can be in touch with all attendees 24/7 when something change (Agenda) or when he wants to notify about some emergency issue (Notifications). It’s a pocket guide to the conference and it replaces tons of paper.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?

We supported both huge, corporate events (IBM, Oriflame) and smaller, regional congresses and tech events. Below our main audiences:

  • closed conferences for employees of corporations
  • open conferences for specific niches (it depends on the target group and the topic of the event)

What does your tool help event planners do better?

  • Communication with event guests (for ex. about recent changes in program or request for feedback)
  • Engaging users (competitions, polls)
  • Networking sessions (with a special social module inside the app)
  • Providing necessary docs, brochures and event infos (available in one place, offline)
  • Engage them with Competition

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?

We make a tailor-made solutions for our clients. We are a software house, so we are able to customise it according to the client needs because we don’t have limitations. Other competitors offer solutions which are ready to go with the white label options (branding, colours), but without individual customisation.

The vast majority of our partners got their app after personal consultations during which we get to know what’s client main issue. An example: an app for the hotel, that has a bonus feature: a smart navigation in the facility. During such consultations we also decide how to adjust the app to the nature of the specific event. That’s why one of our implementations was an app focused on company’s trainings or… tourist attractions

What is the single coolest feature of your product?

Now, when organisers often put strong emphasis on networking during event, I ‘d probably choose the social module which we provide. It improves socialising amongst guests and extend whole networking process.

Anything else we need to know?

We are ready to customise the app for almost EVERY client. It’s a matter of discussion with our developers and the client. So feel free to challenge us and see, how we can make your event special and use smartphones as a really smart marketing and communication tool.

In case of any questions about mobile solutions for events – feel free to ask us at [email protected] or me personally [email protected]

This weekly series spotlights a new tech tool that is designed to help make planning events much more seamless. Whether it’s using event software to track every detail from start to finish or mobile apps that deliver content to attendees’ fingertips, these technologies allow planners to divert their stress to more critical issues like deciding which napkin color looks best.
