The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, St. Regis Monarch Beach, Laguna Cliffs Marriot Resort and Spa, and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Doheny Beach – resorts in Dana Point that would normally compete for group bookings – have formed a coalition called The Resorts of Dana Point, partnering together to raise awareness and increase tourism to the destination. A portion of funds per room consumed across each of The Resorts goes into the Tourism Business Improvement District fund.
The Resorts of Dana Point was the product of four visionary general managers and a very supportive city whose leadership helped drive momentum to form the collective. As a relatively new city, there has never been representation for Dana Point as a destination. Strong competition in the regional market, an urgency to drive new business from various hotel ownership groups, and a very supportive local government helped unite the destination under a common cause. The forming of the collective — The Resorts of Dana Point — showcases the power of partnership and necessity to think beyond the individual brand to focus on the collective whole.
Working towards promoting Dana Point as a whole, and driving tourism to the destination, inherently increases bookings across all four of the resorts. Each resort has something different to offer, and collaboration creates an even playing field for growth and opportunity.
An interesting program that The Resorts of Dana Point have introduced for corporate groups and event planners is called the Mini-Citywide Incentive, and offers a 7% rebate on group bookings that include multiple resorts in Dana Point. Each of the four resorts have the ability to host large-scale events and meetings with seamless service and streamlined precision. Whether outdoors overlooking panoramic views of the Pacific or settled into one of many expansive ballroom spaces, opportunity and beauty are abound at The Resorts of Dana Point.
For groups of 400 or more on peak, The Resorts of Dana Point are offering a flexible incentive offer to allocate to third party Associates and/or clients. Groups must be new business (have not held program in Dana Point for 3 years from booking date), and use multiple properties for a room block of 400 rooms or more on peak.
Combined, The Resorts of Dana Point offer 1,370 guest rooms and suites, 59 meeting rooms, and 256,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. The Dana Point area also features more than 100 acres of public parks and beaches for off-site activities and events as well.
