Recently, Kissing Lions Public Relations celebrated its largest television broadcast placement ever, Built (http://bit.ly/BuiltWiki); a new design show on The Style Network. From successful pitch to placement this embodies the reason our boutique media hub loves brand-telling. We are a conscious publicity nexus fueled by narrative intelligence 2.0. We nurture a socially aware, global mindset for our clients through varied media platforms. We build holistic media muscles by organically implementing visibility campaigns that carry the authentic voice of niche and emerging brands in design, wellness, and mission-based organizations.
Founding principal Kahshanna Evans has managed creative services and social media for former employers and brings the skills she developed working for over a decade in fashion, wellness and both sides of the camera for film & television to her approach to publicity and professionalism. The years preceding the completion of the public relations certificate program she completed in 2011 was spent researching wellness and indigenous culture studies. Themes that began as storytelling and intuitive communication during her vocational studies easily translated into the public relations, branding and social media world.
Kissing Lions Public Relations has supported visibility efforts for MWD Lifestyles/Weddings by MWD Lifestyles, PUNTO Space, Mommi-POP, Criterium-Tauscher Cronacher, Chrisanne Robertson Cards and Gifts, Long Beach International Film Festival, The Vessel. by Lois and ThetaHealing®NYC Wellness Center and School.
The heart of Kissing Lions Public Relations is not all business, however. Supporting humanitarian causes when possible and mentoring nurtures deeper meaning and makes business a pleasure. Mission-based organizations that are making a difference that we celebrate include TheFutureProject.org, CitizenSchools.org and, SASFNYC.org.

Job Title: Founding principal of Kissing Lions Public Relation
Professional Superpower: Brand telling: Helping awesome brands tell their story
My primary role in the events industry is: PR for two great lifestyle brands: Marc Wilson of MWD Lifestyles and Weddings by MWD Lifestyles and PUNTO Space event & performance venue!
Years in the events industry: 4+
To me, being an event hustler means: Being a compulsive narrative junkie – brand telling and storytelling is everything for niche and emerging brands. The golden rule of making it happen is not to wait but instead build, build, build and then share the good news and highlights with the world.
The top 2 most surprising things I’ve learned about the events industry since starting are:
How did you get your start in the events industry? I have two decades experience in fashion, film+television and the entertainment industry (on the other side of the camera). Events, productions, shoots, awards, runway shows and productions were ongoing. There were people pulling the strings…sometimes robo-babes that were total badasses, and some quirky, artsy art directors…all I could think of was, who are these people and how can I ditch glam-nation so I can work with awesome brands for things I care about? I studied wellness for a decade just to decompress and after compulsively helping small businesses a comment someone made suddenly made sense. They said, you won’t have to seek what to do in your life. All you have to do it take notice, and you’ll realize you already do it every day. After years of everyone else running the show, I loved creating Kissing Lions Public Relations and PR for the Happiness Economy bootcamp – both of which are for lifestyle brands and the entrepreneurs behind them!
My biggest event industry pet peeve is: People joking that they hate me. To hear it once, with great timing may make everyone howl with laughter if its earned. To hear it several times makes me want to launch a crowdfunding campaign to pay for the therapy that person may require.
One thing that would really surprise people to learn about me is: Just because I’m 5’9.5″, single, clean up nice and am from California DOESN’T MEAN I’M THE LADY CARRYING SMALL DOGS IN A PURSE. Get it together people, c’mon!
