Recently, we told you about TechStyle, an event held during Fashion Week that brought together fashion and technology. The event had a wonderful turnout and attendees enjoyed the chance to celebrate NYC’s fashion week in techsy style!
But just who are the brands that attended the event? What’s their take on the event industry? And what did they think of TechsyStyle? We took the opportunity to interview a few of the attendees and over the next few days will be featuring their interviews, read on for a peek inside the guests’ heads:
We spoke with Designer Meredith Marks.
– First of all, please tell our readers about Meredith Marks – what is the company all about?
Meredith Marks is about making women feel luxurious and special. We design and produce fine jewelry and are launching our luxury cashmere and fur collection in the fall. Our focus on taking classic shapes and making them work for the modern woman. Our collection features many multi-functional items that women can wear a few ways, and also stackable or layering pieces that each woman can mix and match to fit their personal style. We work with negative space in many of our designs to create a sizable statement pieces that still feels light and feminine.
– What were the 3 keys to getting the company off the ground – where did you invest your time?
Getting comfortable with production, stone dealers and building a brand.
– What was your experience like at TechStyle this year? What was your biggest takeaway?
TechStyle was a great networking event and a lot of fun! We loved seeing all the different brands and meeting with the media and stylists!
– What role do live events play in your branding and marketing initiatives?
Live events are fabulous for building brand awareness and putting a “face” to the brand. It is great to be able to spend time talking about all aspects of my company and industry so that people can feel a connection to us.
– How do you utilize social media to show off your pieces?
Social media platforms allow us to give a truly personal touch, and often posts are spur of the moment because I see something that inspires me. I love sharing with my followers how I like to wear our pieces, and also sharing some snapshots of my travels and my kids. I also find a lot of inspiration in other peoples beautiful shots.
