Recently, we told you about TechStyle, an event held during Fashion Week that brought together fashion and technology. The event had a wonderful turnout and attendees enjoyed the chance to celebrate NYC’s fashion week in techsy style!
But just who are the brands that attended the event? What’s their take on the event industry? And what did they think of TechsyStyle? We took the opportunity to interview a few of the attendees and over the next few days will be featuring their interviews, read on for a peek inside the guests’ heads:
We talked to Lauren Holloway, Manager of Content and Marketing at PRIV.
– First of all, please tell our readers about PRIV – what is the company all about?
PRIV is a one-stop destination for all your beauty and wellness needs. The PRIV app brings your favorite services, along with our highly-vetted professionals directly to you; anytime, anywhere. Looking and feeling good has never been easier or more affordable as payment is done through the app and you can request a professional ASAP or within a 48 hour booking period.
– What were the 3 keys to getting the company off the ground – where did you invest your time?
Our app platform was the first step and most integral part of getting off the ground while differentiating ourselves from other apps out there. Making sure our app worked seamlessly was important-we consider ourselves a tech company first, beauty and wellness company second. The app functions as a dynamic platform-we can now add new services and special promotions to our platform very quickly. From the beginning our tech team has been in-house and we are constantly working to improve user experience and app function. The next key was creating a community of talented and tech savvy professionals. Our app is a forum for our pros to run their freelance careers off of and it was important to find pros that not only gave our customers a great experience but could also communicate the brand and fully understood the PRIV app. Since they are the client-facing representative of us, it’s important to us that we empower and enable them as much as possible.
– What was your experience like at TechStyle this year? What was your biggest takeaway?
We were excited at the opportunity to feature our fitness professionals and our fitness services in such a unique person to person setting. The tie-in with fashion week, technology and the collaboration between TechStyle and Joel Harper made it an on-brand but original way to connect with future PRIV users. A major takeaway was that New York City has a varied and vibrant fitness community that we love to interact with at events!
– How has social media brought users to your app?
As a company in the beauty and wellness sector, it is important for us to be able to express our brand identity directly to our users. Showcasing the personalities and talents of our professionals just makes sense for social media; beauty is a visual medium, so when users see a look by a PRIV Pro on instagram, it’s a natural next step to then PRIV that Pro for the same look! In that way, we get users that identify with our brand as seen on social media and then want to try us out.
– Have you seen a growth in users when you host activations at events?
Yes. Having our professionals perform their services live at an event is a great way for us to interact with customers. The PRIV process seamlessly lives on the app, but the experience is brought to life by the talent and individuality of our professionals-when they interact on a person to person basis they bring the PRIV process to life and make people comfortable with the idea of them coming in to their homes and offices.
– Besides PRIV, what is your favorite app?
We at PRIV are all about on-demand so we love Venmo for the convenience and timeliness.
