Event Tech of the Week: @WaldoPhotos

Today, we’re talking about:Waldo Photos

Company/Tool Name: Waldo Photos

Website: http://waldo.photos

Twitter: https://twitter.com/waldophotos

Facebook: http://facebook.com/waldophotos/

What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve? Sometimes we get so caught up in capturing the moment that we forget to enjoy it or we end up poking someone in the eye with our selfie stick. Sometimes an event photographer takes a great picture of you, but the chances of you getting your hands on your photographs are slim at best…

Waldo solves both those problems. Waldo allows your event guests to enjoy themselves without the pressure of capturing the moment. We use facial recognition technology to deliver event photos to your guests in real-time, directly to their phones.

Simply text an album code, like #SXSW16, to 735-343 (SELFIE) to join. You’ll then be prompted to submit a selfie. We’ll use that picture to go grab your other photos and send them back to you via text. You’ll also be able to view them in the app along with the rest of the album.

No more searching for your pictures among 900 and no more selfie stick fails. That’s Waldo’s dream.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?

Waldo fits the needs of all manner of events. Whether it’s a corporate event with thousands of attendees or a small meetup, anyone who has an interest in delivering their photos directly to their guests is a fit for Waldo.

Control the timed delivery of event photographs so you’re engaging guests at just the right time. Add your logo, your sponsor’s branding or custom watermarks for brand amplification. And, see your event in a new lens with real-time event analytics like number of guests interacting with your album and number of branded moments delivered.

We also offer the ability to re-engage guests for your next event by sending them personalized content from the last event they attended.

What does your tool help event planners do better?

Waldo allows event planners to deliver great, timely content to their guests both during and after the event. The content sent to each guest is relevant because it features them and it makes event photography a worthwhile investment. Event organizers will no longer be left with 1000’s of pictures and no way to deliver them to the right people.

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?

While there have been some changes made in the way event planners manage the capturing of content (step and repeats and photobooths), nothing has been done to innovate the way this incredibly valuable content is delivered to guests. The Waldo solution is a compliment to the photography already taken at events — we get pictures in the hands of guests when they want them.

What is the single coolest feature of your product?

Zero Friction On-boarding: We’ve overcome the latency experienced with downloading an app by using a text-based on-boarding flow. This way, users are able to engage with Waldo in a quick and effortless manner without distracting them from the event experience. Waldo starts finding photos on your behalf as soon as you text in an album code and selfie to 735-343 (SELFIE). It’s that easy.

Ease of Use: Once we find your photos, we’ll share one with you via text message with the option to go to the app to view more of your photos, scroll through the entire album, or share to social media.

Brand Amplification: It’s easy to use Waldo as an avenue to amplify your or your sponsor’s brand. Place your branding or custom watermark on photos that are being shared out into the ether and understand the value of branded event photography for the first time.
