Event Tech of the Week: @GeoramaTravel

Today, we’re talking about: Georama

Company/Tool Name: Georama

Website:  www.georama.com

Twitter:  https://twitter.com/GeoramaTravel

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/georama/?fref=ts

What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?

Georama helps event planners tour venues they can’t physically make it to. From the budget-strapped organization to time-crunched solo planner, we understand that it’s difficult to coordinate site visits across multiple people, vendors and venues. Georama’s live, interactive site tour solution was designed with that in mind – to help people be where they cannot in real-time.

Georama has guides across the world (think Chicago, New York City, Rio De Janeiro, Barcelona, San Francisco & beyond!) so whether a planner needs to see a destination locally or far away, they can contact us and schedule a tour. Tours are broadcast in real-time with two-way audio which allows viewers to ask questions or direct the guide to what they want to see. Videos are shot in HD and recorded for later use – so if a decision-maker couldn’t make it to the live tour, they can review at a later time. Our goal is to give planners the next-best experience to being there in-person!

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?

All of’em! Georama works best when you, your client or vendor need to tour a venue but can’t make it there in-person. Additionally, Georama’s technology can be used to invite the outside world into your event via real-time content marketing or virtual ticket sales.

What does your tool help event planners do better?

Site visits. Think about planning a large conference – at any given time there can be 3,000 parts moving around at the speed of light in multiple directions (while you’re standing on one foot, patting your stomach). Now imagine being able to streamline (literally) your site visit process across clients, vendors, sponsors and speakers by scheduling a virtual tour when they can’t make the in-person physical walk-through.

There are endless advantages to this approach even beyond a live walkthrough. Some examples include reviewing kitchen regulations and equipment with your caterer, giving internationally-based sponsors a preview of exhibition layouts, and giving A/V a detailed tour of the stage so they come completely prepared.

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?

Live blogging apps like Periscope can be considered a competitor of ours, but we really see ourselves as the enterprise grade “teleportation solution”. Quality and reliability are key here – all of our tours are shot in HD and are stabilized, making for a smooth, uninterrupted experience. Tours are conducted via a private stream so only those with an access code can join and each tour is recorded for future on-demand viewing. We also have A TON of bells and whistles – or, as our product team likes to say, “a full suite of customization features”. Our interface is customizable which allows you to incorporate client logos, a map of the floor plan or other brand elements over the video. Further, from the viewing perspective, our technology allows viewers to take notes during the live stream by “marking” a particular point in the video they want to reference later.

What is the single coolest feature of your product?

Your ability to essentially teleport to a place or venue you can’t physically make it to!

Anything else we need to know?

You should know that we would love to talk with you! If you’re interested in learning about our venues or using our technology for your clients and partners, please e-mail us at: sales@georama.com.
